A Storied History: Victoria House

Built in 1938, Victoria House boasts a rich and intriguing past. Originally established as the WA Infectious Diseases Hospital, it later evolved into a premier Spinal Unit under the pioneering influence of globally-renowned Orthopaedic Surgeon, Sir George Montario Bedbrook. Spanning from the 1950s until the close of the 20th century, Sir George’s transformative work on spinal treatment and research has left an indelible mark on the property. As a tribute to his lasting impact, the land upon which our new developments stand has been named Montario Quarter.

Restoring Victoria House was a journey that demanded scrupulous attention to detail. Over a span of three years, our team committed an extraordinary amount of time, resources, and investment to honor the property’s heritage. Every architectural nuance and period-specific feature was carefully preserved to offer a seamless blend of history and modernity.

Design Philosophy

Our designers faced a unique challenge: to meld the Art Deco influences of the surrounding area with the high-speed demands of today’s corporate world. The end result pays reverential homage to the history of Victoria House, while also offering a practical and contemporary business environment.
